Research

To me, the most interesting aspect of linguistic research is to find meaningful generalizations about how languages differ and how they are the same. At the moment, my primary concern is to extend the empirical basis of typological research, which is why I am documenting endangered languages on Ambrym, Vanuatu, for my dissertation work.

The highlights of my dissertation language Daakaka include transitivity in nouns, the modal system, and event argument serializations.
