PB1: Constituent-related phenomena of spoken language

In program area PB1, we are investigating various topics in phonetics and phonology (insertions, deletions, tone & intonation, sociolinguistic variation and acoustic and articulatory differences depending on speech rate) within constituents and across constituent boundaries. One of our research goals is an exploration of constituent dependent variation in spoken language. We are also investigating the phonetic and general linguistic variance found in Berlin dialects and the influence of nature and nurture on the acoustics and articulation of monozygotic and dizygotic twins.
